Forvo.com is an online platform that compiles audios recorded by speakers from different countries and regions and helps English learners access a variety of pronunciations and diverse accents.You can search for words, listen to pronunciations and request new ones. Forvo has a community-driven approach and covers a range of languages. It is a relevant tool for improving listening and speaking skills.

According to Zaki, Hermansyah and Jaya (2024),

“Forvo is an example of instructional technology that researchers, educators, and students should embrace. By using these tools, language learning experiences can be improved and teaching methods can be brought into line with the most recent developments.”

Forvo’s website explains that if you have an account on the website, you can:

• vote on pronunciations, 
• create your own favorite list and 
• download MP3s of pronunciations.

Classroom use

You may help your students develop research and listening skills by encouraging them to explore different pronunciations on Forvo; promote collaborative writing by asking them to create dialogues or short texts using words they searched on the platform; highlight pronunciation variations and English varieties around the world.
