In 2020, the MCCHJ developed the Extension project "Participatory construction of the Museological Plan of the Hermano José House of Culture Museum", which had as its main result the elaboration of its Museological Plan, a fundamental document for the technical and institutional development of the museum in its first 6 (six) years of implementation, valid from 2021 to 2027.

The Museological Plan is an important strategic management tool, with an integrating and articulating character, which reflects the museum institution throughout 12 programs, covering all its dimensions and functions. With this, the MCCHJ is aligned with Law 11.904/2009, which establishes the Museum Statute. 

O processo de elaboração foi realizado sob consultoria de servidores(as) técnicos(as) do Instituto Brasileiro de Museus (IBRAM), a partir de uma série de “Encontros Dialógicos”, onde especialistas de variados campos contribuíram diretamente para a composição dos programas, contando ainda com a participação efetiva da equipe do museu, entre servidores técnicos e equipe discente. 

The elaboration process was carried out under the consultancy of technical staff from the Brazilian Institute of Museums (IBRAM), from a series of "Dialogical Meetings", where specialists from different fields contributed directly to the composition of the programs, also counting on the effective participation of the museum's team, among technical staff and students.
