Bananeiras

About the city

Bananeiras is home to one of the most traditional São João festivals in our region and part of the Caminhos do Frio Cultural Route. The city is a 140-km drive from the state capital to the region called brejo. It is located at the Serra da Borborema, over 500m high.

Besides the traditional festivals, Bananeiras has several tourist attractions such as the Cruzeiro de Roma, the Roncador waterfall, the Lajedo Preto, a historic railway tunnel and activities such as rappelling in waterfalls and quad bike rides on the hills.

The city has several accommodation options, such as the Estação Bananeiras inn, and the Serra Golfe and Eco Spazzio Tropical hotels.

As dining options, visitors can feast on regional cuisine in restaurants such as Bica dos Cocos, Flor do Mangará, and Terraço Lisboa Bistro and Café.

Testimonials about Campus III

  • Ana Patrícia, professor at Campus III

"Bananeiras is a magical city with its old houses and traditions, its mild weather and cold nights. The June festivities are very special in this city and attract tourists from all over the country. I do recommend the Café and Bistro Terraço Lisboa, with its wonderful menu and incredible view of the city. Visitors can also savor a wonderful tapioca at Serginho's or delight themselves during a stay at the Estação inn. You can also play golf in Bananeiras, do trails or rent a quad bike and drive around.”

  • Antonio Alef, student at Campus III

"Throughout my journey on Campus III I cannot forget the role that the University has played; I am extremely grateful for being part of this Campus. I am thankful for the resources available, the excellent professors who are fundamental to the growth of us students, and all the support given by everyone who is part of the CCHSA. And I am thankful for the warm welcome that Campus III and the city of Bananeiras extends to those who come to study here."
